In this picture I used different tools in photoshop to make this cat look really creepy.
I used the spot healing tool to erase stripes, I used the burn and dodge tools to make him look like he has feet and i used the color replace tool to make his eyes pink.
I edited this picture in photoshop to make it appear at though Marley and I are flying. I used the erase tool, the clone stamp tool, the smudge tool, and placed the building tops under us so we looked like we were flying over them.
Today I filled text with an image in photoshop. I made the word Cow have a Cow picture in it.
In digital media last week I played around with different word warp options in photo shop. these are the different ones that I made.
This week in digital media I practiced creating images in illustrator. The task this week was to create a winery poster. Some of the easy tasks in illustrator were coloring items, drawing circles and lines and adding strokes. A few difficult tasks were placing the leaf behind the grapes and making and placing text boxs.
Our travel day back from alaska started very average. I woke up about 7:50 am Alaskan time and went downstairs for breakfast. Kelly was awake doing her spanish paper and watching VH1 so I poured myself a bowl of Cinnamin Toast Crunch and began to eat my breakfast. Slowly one by one people poured downstairs and when Jamie came down she told us that we best start to pack our things becuase we were leaving in five hours. so we packed our bags and we were on the road by 1 headed to the Anchorage airport. Sitting in terminal B5 we waited to boared our plane at 5 pm. 5 came and went and before we knew it the time was 6 and there was a mechanical problem with the plane and they did not know when it would be fixed. At 9 pm there was an anouncement that the plane would not be ready for at least two hours. Then 11 came and went and we couldn’t bored until 12. At 12 fifteen the pilot told us that due to FAA codes, they were no longer allowed to fly that night and that the next flight would be 10:30 Am. After four hours we booked new tickets for the flight at 10:30. Finally everyone was alseep until we had to recheck our bags at 7:30. Breakfast was eaten by all the hungry travelers and the plane was bored. It was amazing but SMS was finally leaving Anchorage 16 hours later than we were supposed to. We arrived in seattle and since we had an eight hour layover we got a hotel and spent some time sleeping, showering and eating. Then it was off to Detroit for our last connection to Bradley. Supposedly that plane was delayed for about an hour but the second I sat in my seat I passed out so I don’t remember that. It was nine and Jamie, Choma, Libby and I had to wait for the other flight to arrive at 11:50. We went and got subs at a sub shop and then picked the others up at the airport. I arrived in West Dover at 2:30, 30 hours later than expected, and by 3 oclock I was alseep. I was dead asleep until 5 the next morning. Now SMS loves traveling even more than before and we especially love Continental.
Today is our first full day in Alaska. After an eighteen hour trip, nine weary travelers arrived in anchorage. Then there was a huge shopping trip at the super market and the alpine girls filled two carts full of food. YUM, way to go girls. We arrived at the house and got settle but not before we realized that we left some groceries in the boys house. So Jamie and Maddi took a drive over there to pick up our pasta for the night. That ended our travel day and we began our first full day in total darkness at eight o’clock. Yes dark at 8 and 9 and not light until about 9:30. The skiing was really good and there was good snow. Unlucky for me I hurt myself in dodgeball last friday and can’t ski for very long because my knee is hurt. So I walked back to the house and realized that the door was locked. I sat outside for an hour until Elle came. Then it took us two minutes to break in, which included breaking the door frame and look. 10 minutes to find glue and a screw driver and 10 minutes to glue stick and screw drive it all back together. this was all before Jamie showed up with the key very very curious as to how we got in the door. Good thing she laughed it off. Well we still have four hours before bed time and that consists of Choma making dinner, more study, dish washing and maybe another night of cold showers.

After our team returned from colorado we had our Thanksgiving break. It was a week long and in that week I did a lot of different things. First I drove to UVM to visit my brother Steve and his girlfriend Raechel. We went out to dinner one night, we spent way to much money, my parents freaked out. Then Rae gave me a tour of the UVM campus, that was really fun but required alot of walking. Once that was done we decided to go to church street and do some shopping. Then we met back up with steve and had some of the best pizza i have ever had from a place called bite me. Its all organic and it was amazing. On sunday I had to drive the three hour drive again to go back home for sunday dinner. The next morning at 7 my mom and I went to Connecticut. I wanted to visit my grandparents and my mom had to go to work. My grandma and I went shopping and picked out some Christmas presents. The next day my Grandma, Grandpa and I all went to the Connecticut Science Center. It was really fun and the exhibits were cool. there was stuff on sports, music, space and much more. Everything was hands on and i actually learned a lot. Gma and Gpa had fun too. Then it was back home to VT where it was time to start making food for the holidays. I was in charge of the lemon meringue pie, my first one ever. The family came up Thursday, there were fourteen people, and we ate food all day. It was a blast and friday I went into Wilmington with my cousin and aunt and we shopped. That night Marley came over and we watched the Orphan. It was so scary and we woke my parents up with all the screaming we did. Sunday came and I went to the movies with Jackie and Marley. Did you know that the world is going to fall apart in 2012? Well, if you didn’t then you should go and see the movie 2012, Mar, Jackie, and I did. So thanksgiving BREAK wouldn’t be the right term to use. But it was fun none the less.
Photoshop lab in digital media
Today and yesterday I created this “World Wildlife Fund Ad” for a digital media assignment. It was a photoshop lab where I had to place animal prints over trees in order to make them appear to have an animal print as bark. the most interesting part was how I could use a pen tool to draw around a tree and then place the animal print over the tree. After that I could cut the print to fit in the part that i drew around the tree. this enabled me to make the tree look like an animal. I was not finished until I made the tree look realistic by using certain tools such as the filter tool, the burn tool and the erase tool. Its really cool how easy it is to make it all look realistic. This would definitely be fun to use on pictures and is a great tool to use for marketing and advertisements.
